2 Timothy 4:7-8 "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing."
I love when we finish the bike Tour at Camp. I love the pomp and circumstance that is created when we all meet at Mirror Lake Road and ride into camp together. I can remember the first time that I finished the Tour and arrived at camp. All the training and hard work paid off. I made it! I had accomplished a difficult task. There were moments on that first Tour, that I seriously considered giving up, but I'm so glad that I persevered. As we rode into camp that first year, I kept thinking to myself, 'I did it!'
I can only imagine what it will be like when we have finished our tour here on earth... when we see Jesus face to face and He says, "Well done!" There have been times throughout my journey that I wanted to give up, but God kept calling me back, and eventually, I listened and obeyed. The benefit of seeing Jesus face-to-face and being with Him in Paradise will outweigh anything that we have sacrificed for Him: any hardship, struggle resisting temptations, or overcoming sins that we have faced. When we receive the crown of righteousness, we will know that it was all worth it!
There is a group of believers that is praying for you as you finish your final days of training. I look forward to seeing you in just a few weeks. Remain faithful. Finish the race. Remember: In Him, we win!
